The only thing we take out of this life...

A dear friend passed away recently and I was reminded of something his brother said to me many years before. He said, "Richard, the only thing we take out of this life is the friendships we make."
You've heard the old expression, "you can't take it with you!", we'll, I believe you take those friendships and precious relationships you've made throughout your life with you when you pass.
As we are about to approach Christmas Eve and 2011, Call, e-Mail, Facebook, Twitter, etc...and tell your friends and loved ones how much they mean to you. It may be hard if the relationships have grown apart through the years but TRUST ME, you will never regret doing this. YOU CAN TAKE THIS WITH YOU!

"Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?"

It's Tuesday night December 14th, 2010. I've spent the last week couple of weeks plugging Nyle Steiner's and my new Christmas 2010 project, "Season Of Joy".
Sometimes it's uncomfortable to promote your own album projects but when you're a record company of two (my precious wife and myself), you just gotta do it. Now, at least the bulk of my Facebook Friends know about it and I have to move on to more important issues.

At this time we have more homeless people in America, than ever. People living on the streets, out of their cars or in abandoned homes, etc. I'm not about to forget our responsibility to homeless animals either.
Many people I know are financially hurting in this economy. With Christmas coming on maybe we can give a little something... our time serving a meal at a local homeless shelter, donating warm clothing we no longer wear. Give what you can to your local Rescue Missions. Seek out legitimate organizations like Friends Of Animals.

In the Bible Jesus gives us the example of the parable of the Good Samaritan.
YOU are my brother, my sister, my neighbor. Forget that iPad, the Big Screen TV and even my little CD if it takes you away from sharing your time or donating a little money to charity.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS and MANY BLESSINGS to YOU... Love, Richard
